The Atlanta Thrashers, formed in 1999, are an up and coming NHL team that have recently been seeing success. The Thrashers have recently taken a Division Title, a feat that very few teams are able to do in their first ten years. Despite this, the Thrashers have had one of the roughest starts for any NHL team. They've had to overcome serious injuries, disputes from owners, and even a player death all in their first five years. The Thrashers are looking forward to a great 2009 season though, with Niclas Havelid, Ilya Kovalchuk, Vyacheslav Kozlov, and Mathieu Schneider as captains. With powerful players like these the Thrashers should have no problem adding to their titles.
